GINGER SOFTWARE: New Tool For Writers

Updated on May 9, 2016

Heres some more helpful writing advice.

Ginger software is a new spell checker program for writers and just about anyone. It is said to be and intelligent spell checker and go beyond your normal spell checkers. It picks up on your intended meaning of your sentence and provides the proper corrections. For example if your sentence was this: Bill asked ware are we going tonight? Ginger is supposed to pick up on the proper word you are meaning which is where. Ginger’s target audiences are business people, school kids, and people with learning disabilities like dyslexia, or if English is your second language. In my case it’s a writer whose grammar is lacking even though she used to get B’s in English. Ginger not only works on word processor, but also in your email and pretty much anywhere you are typing on the internet like say a forum. You have to be connected to the internet in order to use Ginger as well.

The Product Tester

Interested and in my goal to help my fellow writers I took the plunge into Ginger software. I did some detailed research first and they seemed safe. I decided to download the free software. Well, okay it’s only free for 14 days as you discover when you click on the supposed “free” download. I went ahead anyway and downloaded it all in the name of writing. To activate Ginger you are supposed to click on your text and press F2. So I did and nothing happened. Hmmm I thought, so I tried to click on F2 again and still nothing. Okay I think and oh lets not forget my computer also went a little bit wacky that is until I turned off Ginger software on my computer that my computer started acting right again. I have contacted technical support to ask what seems to be the problem and perhaps I’m just missing something. It really saddens me because the Ginger software sounded like promising software. The price for Ginger though is kind of not. I dug deeper to find out the exact price of this software because they don’t tell you during your free trial. There are two types your can purchase. There is the regular or the premium package of course. In the premium you extra like text to speech and progress reports. Not sure what that means and lifetime price is $149.00, a subscription is $12.40. So I guess you have to pay $12.40 every month for the Ginger software to keep it running. The basic Ginger software package is priced at for a lifetime at $99.00, and is $8.50 for subscription. Right now they have a sale for this week only in where for basic lifetime for $ 49.50, and subscription for $5.90. Will it be $5.90 every time not sure and places can be tricky on that so beware as you could be paying the $5.90 now but then after that it could be the regular $8.50. The premium Ginger software package is priced at $ 74.50 for lifetime and $9.90 for the subscription. Again that is this week only sale.

My Review and Thoughts

Personal review of the Ginger software you ask? It is buyers beware. I am planning to uninstall Ginger software from my computer. I downloaded the product and it did not work for me. While I did contact technical support for help in case I did something wrong, I am only going to be able to have the 14 day trail and the price for Ginger software is something not in my budget. Plus did I mention it did not work and I think it made my computer go haywire. Once I turned off Ginger my computer was back to normal. But try it out for yourselves and you got a review on this product first hand.
